Jon Goetz

General Counsel

Jon Goetz is an attorney at the Meyers Nave law firm. As General Counsel to the Irvine Community Land Trust, he is responsible for providing a wide range of legal advice to the Land Trust and documenting the organization’s affordable housing transactions and activities.  Prior to serving as General Counsel, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Land Trust during its inaugural years. 

In over 30 years of legal practice, Jon has advised public agencies, nonprofit and for profit developers, universities, and landowners on hundreds of housing transactions and projects.  He assists his clients in complying with the complex local, state and federal laws that govern affordable housing, as well as helping them obtain specialized forms of financing for affordable housing projects.  Jon’s work involves close cooperation between private developers and public agency officials and staff, processing a variety of land use entitlements and approvals, and documenting purchase, lease, development and infrastructure agreements.  Jon is an honors graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of California San Diego.
