Executive Director - Emeritus

Mark Asturias joined the Irvine Community Land Trust at the time of its founding in 2007. He served as executive director until his retirement in June 2023 when he became Executive Director Emeritus. Mark’s tenure as executive director saw the development of four rental properties and a for-sale townhome community as well as acquisition of other properties, creating nearly 500 additional affordable housing units in the City of Irvine.

Prior to his position with the Land Trust he worked in local government as a Housing Administrator and manager. His local government experience spans over 30 years in affordable rental and for-sale housing development and service programs covering all aspects of housing including entitlement, construction and operation. As the City of Irvine Housing Manager, he managed local government housing projects and programs including affordable housing construction, long range housing planning, inclusionary housing programs and the Federal Community Development Block Grant and HOME Programs.
