Grand Opening of Phase I
The grand opening of Sage Park was celebrated with an event on January 26. We gathered safely outdoors to thank many individuals and organizations instrumental in developing this project, and to hear from two of the elated families who were moving in. We honored the City of Irvine, Banner Bank and California Pacific Homes, without whom this project couldn’t have been developed. We also thanked Angelo Associates Architects, Adam Streeter Civil Engineers for design and layout of the project, and NeighborWorks Orange County for helping us determine program eligibility for prospective home buyers and for providing First Time Home Buyer Education classes to prospective buyers. And a big shout out to Staged Today Sold Tomorrow for bringing the interiors to life, allowing guests to see the full potential of these homes.
Sage Park brings affordable homeownership to Irvine
Sage Park is the Irvine Community Land Trust’s first affordable home ownership community, located in the Portola Springs area of Irvine. It contains 68 affordable townhomes, including 16 two-, 36 three-, and 16 four-bedroom homes, with square footage ranging from 1,282 to 1,609 square feet depending on the unit type.
Sage Park is the first affordable housing community in California to include solar panels, adhering to the 2018 law that mandates new single and multi-family dwellings up to three stories are to include solar panels as of January 1, 2020. Homes have energy star-rated appliances and smart home thermostats, LED lighting, and are wired for high-speed internet. Also, homes are set up so that each homeowner can add an electric vehicle charging station in their garage.
All homes have been sold and there is no longer an interest or waiting list. If you are interested in future projects and opportunities, please sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date.

Partnerships
Sage Park was developed in partnership by California Pacific Homes, it’s builder; the City of Irvine and Irvine Company, which donated the land; and Banner Bank, which provided financing through a loan and mortgages for home buyers. Key partners also included Orange County’s Credit Union which provided mortgages and NeighborWorks OC which helped qualify the buyers. Each Sage Park home includes solar panels (the first for-sale affordable property development in California to do so), a 220-volt electric vehicle charging unit in each garage and energy efficient appliances.
